Lanta Pura Beach Resort ★★★

Excellent well run hotel/ resort, we had to move rooms and this was handled very competently. Very friendly staff. A block of new rooms and a block of refurbished cheaper rooms. New rooms have large balconies some with a view of the pool and sea and some with a view of jungle and sea. Both are very good. The refurbished rooms are not so swish but still pleasant enough. Breakfast is included and has many options. Cleaning is thoroughly done. Two pools (one more of a lap pool) are nice to use and read by. There a number of monitor lizards which appear in the grounds. Hotel is situated in Saladan so one can walk to restaurants and shops and the port area.

The beds were pretty hard and our deck chairs were pretty uncomfortable plastic ones.

Very warm and friendly staff, quietness of the resort and secluded from the more crowded long beach with not many people on it, that makes it very private. Only minus of the beach is the proximity to the touristic harbour and at times, little noisy boats or even larger yatches, may interrupt the quitness of the place (without this, it would be the perfect beach)

The majority of the hotel could do with a renovation. It looks dated compared with the pictures when booking. Very loud air conditioning box on the balcony that makes it unpleasant to sit outside with such a noise. Very dark room, poor natural light, you have to switch the lights even during daytime.. Rusty bathroom and impossible not to inundate it while having a shower. The little old curtain, does not do much.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Let me start with highlights: the view is beautiful, the pool is clean and sorroundind garden is very well mantained. We had a pool access room and it was great. The staff is very polite and friendly. Breakfast was ok and the view from restaurant was great. The location is very good too: a few steps away from night market and many restqurants, stores, food stands all the life. The sea view is wonderful, you can swim in the sea till about 2 pm, then it's low tide time, but it's not a problem, you can walk along the shore, watch the beautiful sunset and enjoy the view of boats returning to harbor. The beds are comfortable, the sheets are clean.

The hotel needs maintenance. Each day there was some repair work going on, emitting disturbing sounds, but the place needs thorough renovation. The bathroom wasn't dirty but wasn't clean either, the window in the bathroom was very dirty looked like it wasn't cleaned for years, the walls were dirty and needed fresh paint, the bedpost was scratched.The hotel has great potential. If it was only given a thorough clean up and renovation.

Pool was not clean. Rooms are old and walls were dirty. Douche curtain was too high so the badroom got dirty when taking a shower

The staff here are amazing! Bee, the receptionist is wonderful and goes above and beyond to help. Lek who makes breakfast is also fabulous and kind and just wants to look after you. The views from the hotel are stunning and the location is perfect.

When booking you need to be aware that in low season the pool bar is closed and the restaurant isn’t open in the evening.

Lanta Pura is in a perfect location. The views are stunning. The staff are amazing. Especially Bee, the beautiful lady on reception. The area is lovely.

Lanta Pura is in a perfect location. The problem is that in Low Season, which is when I stayed, the hotels Pool Bar is closed and the Restaurant is closed in the evening. The walking Street nearby is closed, most of the shops and restaurants are closed. It makes the stay peaceful and calm but guests should be made aware of this when booking during low season. It’s so quiet I would be uncomfortable staying alone during low season.

I had a great time staying at Lanta Pura. It was a peaceful place with, a stunning beach and the staff was kind and helpful.

The hotel billboard at the alley took a lot of work to find.

Staff are very friendly.. They serve you halal breakfast and food.. Most of the staffs are Thai Muslim.. Ms.Bee is the best!! She is the receptionist.. She will help you with anything. The location is very accessible.. Can walk to 7eleven, seafood restaurant, money changer only at front of the hotel road, mini supermarket, morning market, street market at night.. Hotel have no elevator that's all.. Others I give 5stars!!

Dirty rooms, noisy hotel, poor breakfast, poor “beach”, dirty pool, hard and uncormfortable beds, mouldy dirty shower, showercurtain and just mouldy in the bathroom. Behind the door in the bathroom there were something that looked like saliva (det and old). There were several black hair all over the floor. The first room was horrible, close to the stairways with a lot of noice 24/7 and dirty room and bed really hard. The second day we got another room (after complaints) in the other end of the building. More silence and a little bit softer bed, but there was mold as well. Only stayed there for 2 nights - thank god...

Our room was comfy, spacious, quiet, with a sea view, close to the pool with exceptional breakfast. We extended our stay there, no need to say more

none that bothered us

It was good to be in a different environment for 2 nights - not a beach area, but harbor area with all the shops, market, restaurants, travel agencies, massage salons. But do not choose this hotel for a beach holiday. You can see the sea, but there is no beach!!!

The greatest dissapointment was that there is no beach! The water seems inviting from the distance, but closer to the sea, you can see, that there is no beach. No actual sand to put your towel and to sunbath. Also the water was very shallow. It is close to the "boats' road". The bed was also terrible, I woke up everytime my partner turned side or moved himself because the bed reacts to this.

Dirty pool Hotel is rundown Breakfast is not up to par. First room we were offered was mouldy. We refused this room and were offered a different room which was OK. But in general this is definitely not a 4+ star resort as they claim on the website.

The location was all it had going for it.

First of all, on arrival the reception staff were very unfriendly. We were then shown to a room that looked nothing like the photos wedated furniture had booked from. It was small, cluttered dated and dirty. Were asked for another room and this was obviously an inconvenience to them but finally got a larger room. This was also very cluttered with old and dated furniture. The bed was hard and the pillows were like lumps of rock. Had the worst nights sleep. No resort facilities were open. Breakfast was shocking. The eggs were hot but everything else, bacon, sausage etc was stone cold. Stay away.

So in the off season this place was great to have for a little R&R. We immensely enjoyed the fact that we were alone on the beach with some nice views. If you’re looking to get away from everything and don’t mind a little abandonned town feeling then this place is for you.

Pool was nice but not always kept clean. The rooms were older and not in the best condition but the AC worked well. No good food on the island and a little overpriced. Don’t go to the hotel restaurant. And for the coffee lovers out there, they have some delicious Nescafé for you at the restaurants nearby.

The pool was great.The location close to town.

The breakfast was servery/salads were not kept cold.The butter packets had melted & reset & tasted off! Noted that some general maintenance needs doing,like rotten baloney rails,painting etc.

The view was alright if you had a balcony towards the sea. The breakfast was simple but good with a lot off options.

There was a terrible smell throughout the hotel, smellt like sewage and rotten eggs. No smoking policy but staff and guests smoked everywhere. Not even allowed to smoke on your own balconey for any smokers thinking of visiting. Staff looked miserable and didn't seem helpful, the guy showing us to our room pretty much ran ahead. Beds felt like there was something crawling on you, a lot of mosquitos/ants in the room. Bed cloths and towels where also very damp upon arrival. Room extremely dark and overcrowded with outdated furniture, curtains where dirty aswell. Booked for 10 days but checked out after 4. We could have risked switching to another room but going by reviews and the appearance of the place it could have left us in a worse situation. Pool area didn't feel welcoming, no one spoke so you felt like you also had to be very quiet. And the staff for the bar where usually hiding behind it smoking so getting service was a slight mission for rather disappointing drinks/cocktails. A lot of cockroaches at night just for anyone with issues with that. Misleading photos. Surrounding areas very loud at night and a lot off hassle from tuc tuc and taxis.

A 3 night stay in a tourist resort out of season. The island seemed very quiet, so was the hotel. It is located right on the beach. There was no baththub in the first room, even though announced on the website. In fact only a couple of the best rooms have it. Eventually the receptionist upgraded our room to a better one without any additional cost. It was a spacious room with a terrace, seeview and a sunset view. It was amazing to hear the sounds of the see and the forest. The breakfast was OK for 3 days.

Both rooms we entered need a propper cleaning, repair and a maintenance. Signs of a flood or heavy rain damage in the rooms. The rubbish flowing in the creek in the front of the terrace.

Amazing room and Friendly staff

The staffs English skills weren't very good hard to communicate. The breakfast was quite poor the first day was ok with pad Thai but the next day I ordered noodle soup and it was quite discussing.
